Therapeutic Massage for the Hospice Client

Many people experiencing end-of-life issues benefit from a gentle therapeutic massage at home. After IV's and physical therapy, it can be very comforting to receive a more sensitive touch. Massage therapy for Hospice clients involves soothing relief from pain and stiffness in a relaxing, non-invasive manner. Massage may be received while in a bed or recliner while the client is fully clothed. No massage oil is necessary.

Coverage

Unfortunately, therapeutic massage is not covered by insurance companies nor by most hospice organizations. Our normal pricing applies for home visits if within 20 miles. An additional fee may be added for farther travel. See our Services page for technique descriptions.

A physician's referral is required. Please have the patient's health care provider mail or fax us a referral listing any restrictions and recommendations.

Don't Forget the Care Giver

Would you like to offer a special gift to a friend or loved one who is caring for someone at home? Therapeutic massage is a treat, an hour of alone-time in which the care giver may be pampered and relieved of stress and muscle tension. We prefer that the care giver schedule a session in our office and really dedicate a full hour or so to self-care, but we can make arrangements to combine a session with the hospice visit.
